Jai Bharath Institute for Community Development and Research (JBICDR) is a non profit making professional NGO, established in October 2006 and registered under the Act XII of the Travancore Cochin Scientific, Literary and Charitable Societies Registration Act, 1955 with the objectives of doing research and development activities in the area of rural and urban community development. With a clearly spelt vision and developmental paradigm, this institute has already made its presence in the social arena of the Kerala. It has undertaken a series of research studies such as
1. Participatory Impact Assessment of the Social Development projects of Veega Holidays and Parks Ltd.Ernakulam
2. Feasibility study and implementation of General Health Insurance Programme of Choolamandalam Insurance Company limited in association with the People’s Dairy Development Projects(PDDP)
3. HIV/AIDS Vulnerability Assessment among truckers and internal out migrants in Kerala for the Kerala State Aids Control Society, Government of Kerala
4. Integrated campaign to contain the chicken gunya fever in panchayaths in the eastern part of Ernakulam District.
5. Community based counseling centre has been functioning at Vengola.
6. English and Mathematics basics skill development training has been conducted for high school students in the last school vacation.
7. Personality development and Career Guidance classes for youth in collaboration with Kerala State Youth Welfare board.
8. Two Day Dairy Products making workshop for Kudumbasree members in collaboration with Kerala State Youth Welfare board.
The institute is now implementing
- The education and health projects of Vazhakkualam Grama Panchayath
- Competitive Exam Coaching and Personality Development Training for Youth under Kizhakkambalam Grama Panchayath
- Ward level training for students and parents with the financial support of the Thrikkakara Grama Panchayath and Perumbavoor Municipality.
